The aim of this project is to increase food production & halt desertification by improving soil fertility and planting trees in Loagha, Bam Province, Burkina Faso. The project is also seeking to increase the skill of field officers and community volunteers.
The project:
- Provides training in sustainable agriculture techniques (such as compost, manure, tree nurseries)
- Provides tool kits (spades, hoes etc)on a revolving fund basis
- Builds the strength of the local partner and community organisations
Self Help Africa's local implementing partner is Association Projet Ecologie et Reboisement (PER), which has been working in North Central region since 1991.
