Creative ways of fundraising: volunteers cook an African dish at a local food show to raise money
Become a local fundraiser

Fundraising is fun, rewarding and a great opportunity to meet new people, fill spare time and gain new skills. There’s no limit to the imaginative ways in which you can help us raise money. A great place to start is to think about how to take your hobbies to a fundraising level – perhaps a fun football match, a dance evening, cake sale or a sponsored walk. As long as you have the enthusiasm, we will support you in every way we can.

How would I be helping?

The role could involve:
  • Organising or helping to run a local event – this could be anything from barbeques, table top sales, sponsored walks, or anything that takes your fancy.
  • Representing us at local events such as fetes and shows.
  • Writing to local press to get publicity for your event – we’ll show you how.
  • Linking up with other fundraisers in your area for support and ideas.
What skills and training do I need?

You do not need any specific skills for this role – but lots of enthusiasm and a few local contacts will help!

How much time do I need to give up?

As little or as much as you feel able since your fundraising activities can be tailored to your lifestyle and availability.

How do I get started?

We’ve produced a guide which is packed full of advice and ideas.
