How you can help

Self Help Africa believes that the continent's poorest people will only see real and lasting change to their lives through long term rural development programs like those we are supporting.

There are many ways that you can help us in this work: We need ambassadors, committee members and volunteers to help us to advocate on behalf of the communities we are working with, and support us in our fundraising activities

Why now join us at this year's Change Maker's Ball in New York on November 12th? Find out more.

You can also make a donation to Self Help Africa by clicking on the 'Donate' button at the top of this page.

Soon, you will have the opportunity to make donations to directly support our projects, as well as the opportunity to buy items from our gift store, run an event, and even fund-raise to travel to Africa and visit the projects for yourself.

The current list of activities, events and ways to get involved are listed under the main headings on the left hand side of this page. Coming soon will be more opportunities and ideas for how you can help.

What difference will it make?

With your help we can enable farmers to grow more food, diversify their crops and withstand drought. We can give opportunities to entrepreneurs, set up micro-credit unions, and help those most vulnerable to climate change.

Your support for our work also makes it possible to rehabilitate the natural environment, improve access to water and sanitation. These are some of the many ways that we are making a difference - ways which are only possible with the backing that we receive from you.
