The achievements of Self Help Africa are first and foremost the achievements of the people we work with.
The small-holding farmers who are now self-sufficient in food production and even producing surpluses, the women who have set up small home businesses, the local villagers who no longer have to carry water for long distances, and the communities who finally have the means to live life free from poverty and need - are just some of the success stories that we have shared in celebrating.
We are privileged to work with local people and communities whose efforts, energy, resourcefulness and dedication have enabled them to bring clear, and measurable improvements to their lives.
The stories here are just a sample - from people and communities in Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Togo, Uganda and Zambia with whom we have been working.
These short accounts provide a window into our work, and a window into the lives of communities who are overcoming adversity and disadvantage, to provide a better lives for themselves, their families, and for the generations to come. |
